I am very happy to say that we have once again had a very successful Open House 2010 event thanks to all of our valued suppliers and customers. There is nothing more pleasing than seeing the interaction of all of our customers and their comments back to us as to the knowledge they gained during the two day event.

The CNC Automation team spent many weeks to put together the fully operational production facility so that all who attended could see exactly how each piece of machinery worked. We made the official launch of the Kentwood line having a rip saw, moulder and grinder being demonstrated. Stiles had seven specialists at customers' disposal to answer questions and present the benefits of the Kentwood range of products.

During each day we had open workshops surrounding our family of software products, eCabinets Systems, DXF Buddy, and Panelmetrix. Representatives from ArtCAM and 20/20 Technologies were also available to show their products and how they link to the Thermwood CNC routers that we had running continuously throughout the day.

Here is a video excerpt from the HGTV Canada program "House of Bryan", showing the creation of MDF door panels and the installation of custom cabinets for host Bryan Baeumler's house.  The NC code for the nested MDF door and drawer panels was created using Panelmetrix.

The machine making the door panels and all of the cabinets shown is a Thermwood CabinetShop 45 with a 5×10 table, and is owned by Top Notch Cabinets, of Oakville, Ontario.

Version 1.1 packs a whole lot of new features to do with DXF manipulation that we hope you will find useful .

  • Geometry selection - individual, chain and windowed mode.
  • Zoom and Pan.
  • Create new layers.
  • Copy or move geometry between layers.
  • Delete geometry.
  • Layer and geometry information.
  • Keyboard "mouse" actions for use on a controller installation.

With some of the above features, you can basically take an unprepared DXF file and layer it on the fly with DXF Buddy ! ** The geometry has to be good to begin with though.

  • Modify material and other common parameters across multiple rows.
  • Interpretation of actual Z depths found in DXF files when layer names have not been defined.
  • Support of the new CAB packaging of Control Nesting 5.49.
